Ashley McMillan, president of Kansans for No Income Tax, said that it is important to educate Kansans about the opportunities to increase taxpayers’ wealth by eliminating income taxes. “The elimination of the state’s income tax gives wage earners an immediate pay raise and encourages economic growth in our state,” she said. “With surrounding states like Missouri considering income tax elimination, it is critical that Kansas creates a better environment to do business before we lose out to neighboring states.”
Kansas for No Income Tax is a non-profit organization with 260 public members and is seeking to grow its membership to 2000 by the end of the year. According to the group’s website, Kansas has the 19th highest state and local tax burden in the country with an economic outlook that is ranked 37th in the nation.
